what to expect
Therapy can be scary. It can also be life-changing. You might be wondering how everything will begin, and whether it is even worth it to go. If you book with me, you will get full transparency. There will be no hidden costs, no unrealistic expectations, and an environment that is open to feedback whenever you want to give it.
Whatever you come to therapy for, we will find a collaborative treatment plan that works best for you. Our sessions are 100% confidential and tailored specifically for your needs.
I work with clients of all ages. I have skills in the areas of anxiety and panic disorders, OCD, anger management, stress management, trauma, phobias, and all levels of parenting – from perinatal and postpartum counselling to supporting you as a parent of a child of any age.
Everyone is unique. There is no perfect approach that works for everyone. That is why I choose to incorporate aspects of various therapies into our sessions and our relationship. The most important part of therapy is the trust between you and I.
If you are here because you have a phobia, you’re in luck! That is my specialty area. For more information on my unique approach to treating phobias, continue reading below.
phobia treatment
Do you have a phobia that gets in the way of you living your life the way that you want to live it?
I offer short-term, focused treatment of specific phobias – any phobia. I have a particular interest in treating emetophobia – the fear of vomiting. When treating OCD and social anxiety, I often use aspects of phobia treatment as part of the process.
My approach to the treatment of phobias draws on behaviour therapy, exposure and response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), humanistic therapy, and narrative therapy. However, we may use aspects of any therapeutic modality. This is entirely dependent on you and your phobia.
Phobia treatment is offered both virtually and in-person.
anger management
is anger controlling your life and threatening your relationships, job, or daily functioning?
I offer short-term solutions to anger management that work quickly so you can get your life back. Learn about the anger cycle and how you can use interruption points to regain control over your own actions. Let’s work together, monitor your progress over time, and see what works best for you.
Through this treatment, we will find strategies that you can fit into your life and make a part of your daily routine. After treatment has finished, I will continue to provide check-ins to see how well our relapse prevention strategies are holding up. That way, you can feel confident as we adjust or maintain as needed.
